AUGUST 2002
by Bob Mulligan
August begins
with Jupiter (Planet of Abundance) moving into Leo the (Sign of
the Sun). Our vision and expectations suddenly become more optimistic.
Also happening on the 1st, Jupiter makes an aspect to Pluto. Finally
things are really starting to move forward. An aura of optimism
colors everything that we do. Neptune in aspect to both the Sun
and Venus encourage us to go beyond our ordinary boundaries. Our
hopes and dreams are leading us to expand our expectations now.
Venus squares
Saturn on the 2nd. This is a sobering experience, even though our
energy is still moving forward. It's a great time to correct our
methods. Both planets are in Mercury ruled signs. How we are thinking
about our lives is the key to working our way through feelings of
having to comply with rules we don't like.
Mercury sextiles
Saturn on the 3rd. This is the perfect day to make progress on projects
that require mental focus.
On the 4th,
Mercury opposes Uranus. As a consequence we may find ourselves thrust
up against virtually unsolvable problems for a couple of days.
Mercury contra-parallels
Uranus as Mars trine Pluto on Monday the 5th. Even when our mind
ties us up, direct action often gets results.
On the 6th,
right after having aspected Pluto, Mercury crosses into Virgo (Sign
of Analysis). We dig a little deeper into whatever we are doing.
If we examine the details of our lives a little more thoroughly
now, we make great progress.
Wednesday the
7th, Venus (Goddess of Love and Harmony) moves into her own sign,
Libra. This midweek period is romantic. Passion gathers in intensity
up through the weekend. It's an optimistic day.
Thursday the
8th at 3:16 PM EDT we have our New Moon at 16 degrees of Leo (Sign
of the Sun). It is an extremely optimistic time with fire, enthusiasm,
and lots of luck. Feelings of Love are strong now.
The 9th is stressful
but the warm glow and the power of the New Moon moves us all toward
action aimed at what we really want.
The Sun conjuncts
Mars on the 10th. Energy is strong for grandiose self displays.
Sitting still is hard so be ready to move.
On the 11th
Mercury quincunxes Neptune. It's a jubilant day but emotional pressure
can build.
Pleasant thoughts
and words go a long way toward helping in all relationships on Monday
the 12th as the Moon conjuncts Venus. Make friends and express feelings.
Things go better
on the 13th if we adhere to our previous plans and try to implement
them without expansion. Embellishment can cause us to miss true
objectives.
If at all possible,
spend some time reorganizing on Wednesday the 14th as the Moon parallels
Pluto and Uranus then sextiles Mercury. This is the time to integrate
new experiences from the last few days.
Very tough,
all or nothing decisions can come to us on the 15th as Mercury squares
Pluto. Smart people decide quickly to stay on their paths. If something
is offered, be sure that it makes sense before responding. You can
end up quite isolated if you assert yourself too much. With any
disagreement remember, our enemy can be feeling we know everything
or that we are right and someone else is wrong. Look at what you
can change in your own nature and you make progress.
Venus trines
Neptune on Friday the 16th with the Moon sextiling both planets
from Sagittarius. You can move along swiftly toward a goal if you
are willing to make sweeping changes.
With the Sun
trining the Moon and contra-paralleling Uranus on the 17th we are
eager to move forward. Don't let past failures and mental blocks
prohibit you from trying something new.
Sunday the 18th
Venus sesquiquadrates Uranus. We are prone to experiencing a quick
change of feelings. All of August this year has a romantic vibration.
Today is one of those moments when our affections can abruptly change.
On the 19th
the Sun aspects Pluto, Saturn, and Uranus, showing us a reverence
for things gone by. We stay focused on practical concerns while
our intuition prompts us to look for more creative methods of expression.
Saturn trines
Uranus on the 21st, giving us the opportunity to see the perfect
harmony between the world passing away and the adventures of the
future.
Thursday the
22nd brings us to the Leo / Aquarius Full Moon, at 6:30PM EDT, on
the 29th degree of these signs. We experience a culmination of our
efforts from the last couple of weeks. It is quite possible to feel
a deep sense of completion now.
On the 23rd
the Sun crosses into Virgo (an Earth sign). We tend to slow down
and become more practical. Executed with lots of energy, small steps
give us a feeling of progress. Saturday the 24th Mars opposes Uranus,
and Mercury squares Saturn. Circumstances force us to change our
approaches quickly. We may stop what we are doing and take up a
different activity for a while. Try to "go with the flow." Mars
sextiling Saturn indicates that versatility and patience is the
key to getting work completed.
Once again we
have a sharp turn in the road as Mars contra-parallels Uranus on
Sunday the 25th. If we are observant, a new path opens allowing
us to achieve long sought after goals.
It's a new day,
Monday the 26th, as Pluto turns stationary direct, Mercury crosses
into Libra, while Venus, Sun, and Moon all interact. We are able
to turn our attention toward a new horizon. Higher ideals permeate
the atmosphere making it possible to achieve some harmony in our
group. Every situation is a negotiation in which it is possible
for all to win.
The 28th is
a low key day with emphasis on finishing things already in motion.
We rush toward old issues with new gusto. Determination to change
or examine some aspect of our self-expression will bring rewards.
On the 29th
Mars moves into Virgo. Take care of the little things today so they
don't come back to impede your progress later.
Friday the 30th
is an easy day. Much can be cleared up if you avoid arguments and
remain fair-minded.
August ends
on Saturday the 31st. Even though today is stressful, there is real
excitement in the air. Take the time to examine where you are really
going. Events have a way of matching your expectations. Look to
strike a balance between honesty and vision.
