FEBRUARY
2002 by Bob Mulligan
Even though
February 2002 is a month with some extremes, it is a lighter month
than we have experienced for a while. It is a breather, so to speak.
However, there are two competing moods during February 2002 which
keep it from being completely peaceful. First, there is the primitive
assertive belief that we can just start over and through sheer will
make something new happen. This is symbolized by Mars, God of War,
now tenanting his own sign Aries. Second, is our wish to acknowledge
our true circumstances. This attitude is symbolized by Saturn and
Mercury turning direct in each others signs. This is a reality check.
Our given circumstances confront our desires. Where we are is in
conflict with where we want to be. Progress is only realized when
we use our ability to deal realistically about present circumstances.
On the 1st Venus
sextiles Pluto. This is a day when our thoughts of love can move
us to some higher insights. Correctly used, this sets the stage
for a reevaluation of our mistakes and misperceptions. This is shown
on the 4th as Mercury (the mental planet) Retrogrades back into
Capricorn. Concentration now can lead to helpful practical observations
about our lives.
Abrupt changes
can free us from difficult circumstances on the 5th as Venus Sesquiquadrates
Jupiter. Personal life needs may run counter to our vision of the
good for the world. One way or another this clash of objectives
comes to a conclusion on the 7th, as the Moon sextiles Venus Uranus
conjunction. To be inspired by a new love is perhaps the best use
of this urge to begin again. As Saturn is turning direct at this
time, we are prompted to act.
On the 8th Mercury
turns direct, then parallels Neptune. We have been struggling to
keep the faith, and hold on to higher ideals. This is the time when
we find strategies to make the vision of higher truth, practical.
As it turns out the 9th is a fortunate day if we choose to focus
on the right things. New and unusual adventures are favored as Venus
parallels Uranus and the Sun sesquiquadrates Jupiter.
We are compelled
to act on the 11th as Venus parallels Pluto, Sun parallel Uranus,
Mars trine Pluto, and Venus enters Pisces. Great day to get organized
and turn over a new leaf. Time spent alone can be quite rewarding
now. There is tremendous energy now, but it is best used to address
changes in our inner life.
On the 12th
at 2:42am, EST, we have a New Moon. This is the time to pray for
world peace as the energy is very high. Sun and Moon are in the
Sign of Aquarius which rules universal brotherhood.
Our energies
and impressions change on the 13th as the Sun conjuncts Uranus and
Mercury enters Aquarius. This is the time for looking up and looking
forward. An aura of detachment releases us from the emotional energy
of the earlier part of the month. Our dominant feeling is that our
efforts will make a difference now to change both ourselves and
our circumstances.
We focus on
our personal lives and romance on the 16th as Venus semi-squares
Mars. Also, Venus trines Jupiter now which gives a powerful emotional
burst. We feel lucky. It's a good time to see how fortunate we really
are.
A somber mood
closes in on us on the 18th as Venus Squares Saturn and the Sun
enters Pisces. There is a creative spirit growing right now, but
it will take some time to come to fulfillment.
Having a cautious
eye for detail can carry us far on the 19th as Mars makes a semi-square
Saturn and Venus contra-parallels Mars. Get a new strategy for working
out the details of relationships. Now is a time to move forward.
We find good fortune and pleasantness on the 24th as the Sun trine
Jupiter and Mercury conjuncts Neptune. Psychic perceptions are just
about as accurate as they get today.
On the 25th
Venus Squares Pluto just before the Sun Squares Saturn on the 26th.
We are all trying to live our personal lives as major events of
the moment intercede. Never before has world events had such a direct
conscious impact on the lives of individuals as this last six months.
Today demonstrates this connection and conflict between the needs
of society and the affairs of individuals.
The energy builds
on the 27th as have a Full moon at 4:19 am EST. The cosmic energy
assists us to bring our projects to fruition. It is always fruitful
to meditate at the time of a Full Moon. We leave the Month on a
very high note.
