JULY 2002 by Bob Mulligan

July is the "light at the end of the tunnel." The last two months have been difficult. May and June 2002 were the final assault on our sensibilities after eight months of unbelievable change. For almost a year now all of us have been struggling to catch our balance, to somehow manage our personal lives. With the rules of the games changing every few weeks our personal lives have been exceeding difficult to manage. How many times have you changed your mind about something fairly fundamental? Life has been tough and uncertain. Now, finally, we will slowly start to stabilize now. Overall, our difficulties are lessening in intensity.

July begins with the Sun, Jupiter, and Mars all in Cancer, sign of home and family. Generally, we are all feeling pretty positive now. It's as if everyone's mind is racing like a top. This is a great time for rechecking your foundations and basic assumptions about life. After all, we have a lot of changes in world culture to assimilate now. Thinking, planning, and organizing are recurring themes all month. Reflection and self-examination are also part of this July. You will know more about yourself in August than you knew in June.

July begins on an emotional note on Monday the 1st as the Moon makes a trine to Jupiter then floats "void of course" until moving into Aries (sign of beginnings).

Tuesday the 2nd Mercury (Planet of thinking) is conjunct Saturn (discipline), and parallel Jupiter (abundance). This is a great time to get organized.

On the 3rd Mercury parallel Saturn, Venus sextile Saturn, Mars conjunct Jupiter. Optimism knows no bounds right now. Emotionally we are on the edge of great expectations. A little common sense can keep us in good balance.

Mercury parallels Mars and sesquiqradrates Neptune on the 4th . Enthusiasm and fantasy promises to make today both creative and productive. Accomplishment is the special flavor of the day.

On Friday the 5th we are prompted to take a few bold steps as the Sun sextiles the Moon. Entering the weekend we prepare to relax and pay attention to our needs for rest. Enjoyment and fun may be at the top of the list for the first time in a while.

Mercury trines Uranus on the 6th. Let your mind take some great steps today. Innovate, it's the perfect time to develop new habits, procedures, or a whole new approach to some aspect of your life. Good news can life your spirits today.

Sunday the 7th we have Mercury entering Cancer. Organize, rest, communicate. Much can be done behind the scenes.

On July 8th Mars parallels Saturn. We measure carefully where our energy goes. It's a good time to monitor carefully what we wish to accomplish.

Our feelings can be quite stirred up on the 9th as Venus (Goddess of love) opposes Uranus (Excitement). Its hard to sit still when we are intensely passionate about something in our life. However, it doesn't seem like this is the best time to act on our sentiments.

The New Moon occurs at 18 degrees of Cancer at 6:27am EDT on the 10th. If you are awake, spend some quiet time, meditate. Venus enters Virgo showing rewards through practical concerns. However, Venus is also making a contra-parallel to Uranus showing spontaneous and creative emotions in us are searching for new heights. Inner conflict helps us develop a fresh approach to old problems.

Venus contra-parallels Pluto on the 11th. Today, quick maneuvers can give us long lasting results.

On the 12th the Sun Parallels Saturn, Mercury quincunxes Neptune, and Mars parallels Jupiter. Slow, careful execution of well conceived and timely plans can open opportunities that have escaped our attention before. Rapid progress is possible. Projects begun during the first few days of July can reach conclusion now.

On Saturday the 13th, Mars moves into Leo and Mercury sesquiquadrates Uranus. Confidence is high. Self-assuredness and inventive thoughts create an atmosphere where new milestones are possible.

Hold yourself to a moral code without preaching to others and Sunday the 14th goes smoothly. Mars (God of War) is in hard aspect to Pluto (Lord of the underworld). But Mercury (Messenger of the Gods) makes a quincunx Pluto. Timely information can stop us from making a mistake.

Monday the 15th the Sun semi-sextiles Saturn. We can establish good foundations for a long term project today, if our beginning considerations are carefully conceived. Also, today is good for terminating relationships that are unsatifying or uncomfortable.

On the 16th the Sun squares the Moon. Other people can have us trapped between out emotional needs and our desire for harmony.

The Sun parallels Jupiter on the 17th. Emotional optimism and feelings of fulfillment get us going on things that are important to us today.

Thursday the 18th Mercury semi-sextiles Saturn. Minor corrections help us stay on course today.

We may feel lucky on the 19th. The Sun conjuncts Jupiter. If we know what we really want, if we are honest with ourselves, much can be accomplished. Focus on the achievable.

On the 20th Mercury conjuncts Jupiter, both the Sun and Mercury quincunx Uranus. Later, the Sun conjuncts Mercury. We complete and achieve. We want more but, it is a gift to be satisfied with what we have.

Sunday the 21st we have Mercury paralleling Saturn just before entering Leo. Thinking and more thinking. Be open to correction. Hardening into place makes it difficult to change important opinions in ourselves and in others.

The Sun crosses into Leo on Monday the 22nd. Optimistic support is all around us. Believe in yourself. Now is the time to step forward in a big way.

On the 23rd the Sun makes a hard aspect to Pluto, Jupiter quincunxes Uranus, and Mercury parallels Jupiter. Unrecognized emotions force themselves to the surface of consciousness. Did you know you felt this way? Discovering more about yourself is always good.

On the 24th we have a Full Moon at 1 Aquarius 18 minutes a 5:08am EDT. Also Venus squares Pluto. It is always nice to meditate at the time of the Full Moon. Avoid being stubborn and you may in fact be able to help others that really need you.

As Mercury conjuncts Mars on the 25th, thoughts explode. Channel your actions correctly and much can be accomplished.

On the 26th Mercury semi-squares Saturn and opposes Neptune. Also the Sun parallels Mercury. It requires discipline and self knowledge but the way to make today creative is to have faith in yourself and others while avoid acting on wishful thinking.

On the 27th Mercury parallels Mars. Work or recreation can feel quite pleasurable today. Accomplishing one thing then starting in a new direction can be the pattern in which we move today.

Who you are and who you think you are may be far apart on the 28th. Strive to know yourself better. Activity is more fun than meditating today but the latter is what you need to not waste your time. Mars (energy) makes a parallel to the Sun (ego), a semi-square to Saturn (discipline), and opposes Neptune (culture).

On the 29th Mercury trines Pluto, Sun trines Moon, Mercury contra-parallels Neptune, Saturn sesquiquadrates Neptune. You can see all the way to the bottom of something you have been working on. Some aspect of your work may indeed be a clear reflection of you. Take note today, important information is yours for the asking.
