JULY 2007 by Bob Mulligan

If 2007 were a novel, ever month of the year would be a chapter. Last month, June was a time of major external events; July is when each of us (the main character of our own personal novel) adjusts to the circumstances created by last month’s events. July is a time for reconciliation. Still, the Sun is in Cancer for the first three weeks of July; and Cancer is a cardinal sign, meaning to act. Our activities in Cancer are usually hidebound and instinctually repetitive; however we are offered the opportunity this year to take some truly progressive steps by letting go of old habits which impede our evolution.

We can sit still, move backward, or move forward. This year the passage through Cancer requires self examination in order to progress. With Mars (Lord of Desire) in Taurus (sign of earth and security) all month, many people will be perplexed trying to secure their financial solvency. But also, this is a time when people do not so easily say what is on their mind or express their feelings very directly. There is a critical build up on energy in the fixed signs as people are less likely to say what is really on their minds. If you are aware of this you may side step problematic situations; and by the same token, be careful that residual disappoints in your own life doesn’t lead you into passive aggressive behavior.

As Mercury turns Direct on July 9th our communications become more direct and there is less chance of being misunderstood.

We have a New Moon on July 14th at 8:04am EDT. This lunar month is indicative of our attempts to adjust to new circumstances. World events have intruded into our private lives and now we are in a pattern of reconciliation. All things are possible but our probability scale just went through a major overhaul.

We move into a more individualistic mood of self expression as the Sun enters Leo on Monday the 23rd. We don’t need other people’s approval to act but we do need to be measured and careful as we enter the season of creativity.

Venus turns retrograde Friday July 27th. This phenomenon happens every two years and lasts for about 40 days. Now is the time to examine our love connections; during this period we can learn about our feelings and clean up past romantic encounters where there was misunderstanding. If we feel incomplete with someone, we may find opportunity to get closer. We can reevaluate every form of artistic expression. We all have personal adaptations that we use to establish harmony; we may observer then change some aspect of this behavior over the next couple of months.

The Full Moon on Sunday July 29th at 8:48pm EDT brings many things to conclusion. We find many happy ending and an optimistic outlook for several weeks as the Sun and Moon are favorably aspected to Jupiter (King of the Gods). Also, Mars is just completing a t square with Neptune and Saturn, finishing our personal period of adjustment to the strong outside influences.

From the 1st to the 8th we gradually increase the scope of our activity. This is a very important time to hang loose and sharpen our tools. Unexpected changes around us open the doorway to unique opportunity. Be willing to make small gains.

Contemplation and introspection are favored from the 9th to the 15th as we prepare for a new forward thrust into life. Because our instinctive nature gives us so much information that doesn’t easily translate into words our communication can be frustrating; an emotional connection is necessary in order to have a good working relationship with someone.

From the 16th to the 22nd it is best to get caught up on unfinished business from our recent past. There is a spirit of growth and all things are possible; but clarification and victory only come by abandoning worn out ideas and eliminating irresolvable issues; we must take a bold step by permanently turning our attention to the achievable.

From the 23rd to the 31st is a great week to clarify our key relationships. Emotional energy runs into the power of analysis. There is a subtle yet very important striving for perfection; we have an attitude of wanting to get it right this time. Sharing of information can pave the way to a deeper emotional bond.

1st – Sunday – Venus Conjunct Saturn, Mercury Sextile Mars, and Venus Contra-parallel Neptune – Self-expression is limited but the continued focus on problems at hand shows us a path to something new.

2nd – Monday – Discontent underlies much of our reactions to difficulties but honest self appraisal brings us back to a stable course of forward motion. We find new methods for dealing with frustrations.

3rd – Tuesday – Sun Quincunx Jupiter – This is a confusing time to act. Now is the time where contradictions in our beliefs emerge. Inner house cleaning gives us new conclusions about ourselves and about life. There is a way to achieve harmony and purpose in necessary activity; be willing to move slowly and methodically.

4th – Wednesday – Good communication and shared dreams make this a creative and fun filled time of positive interactions. Take the day off to celebrate.

5th – Thursday – Sudden changes in our vision can bring a time for joy. Be open to great changes and new opportunities.

6th – Friday – Venus Parallel Mars – Sincere openhearted gestures can encourage people who are stuck to take some risks. We can all get healthy together.

7th – Saturday – Wholesome optimistic sentiments give us the opportunity to resolve conflicts, find joy, and create abundance. Compassion and common sense can be applied quickly to each situation and bring immediate, if limited results. We are preparing for a great leap forward.

8th – Sunday – Venus Trine Pluto – We become finer people by putting the highest intuition of our hearts into practice. This is a passionate day and putting a little force behind your desires can have a transforming affect on your partnerships.

9th – Monday – Mercury turns Direct – Reevaluate your situation today. How much are your current actions worth? Are you getting what you really want out of your job, marriage, life? Intelligent action requires some analysis of your circumstances.

10th – Tuesday – Mars Quincunx Jupiter – Be realistic; you have all the tools for making appropriate decisions. Be willing to stick to a tough course of action regardless of the consequences. Desires can be out of step with your foundations and over-indulgence can spell trouble.

11th – Wednesday – Sun Trine Uranus, Mars Sesquiquadrate Pluto – Our instinctual nature can reveal a way through our current strife. Be willing to act but watch out for suppress anger which can suddenly surface.

12th – Thursday – A little kindness goes a long way as we work to understand opposing points of view. Feelings deepen and it is possible to experience uncommon joy through simple everyday situations.

13th – Friday – Mars Contra-parallel Neptune – Idealism is a powerful motivator. Meditation is inspiring but not the best prelude to action right now. Wait a couple of days to initiate new activity; let your feelings and thoughts gestate.

14th – Saturday – Sun Quincunx Neptune, then the New Moon at 8:04 am EDT, Mars Parallels Saturn, and Venus enters Virgo – Confusion, passion, and fear can color our course of action. We do best by waiting a few days as there is some uncertainty in the path ahead. This is a time of meditation, planning, and reevaluating key relationship.

15th – Sunday – A general mood of expansion, generosity, and joy creates a positive atmosphere. Our expectations are amplified as we follow the natural course of events now.

16th – Monday – Sun Semi-sextile Saturn – If we keep our heads down and our attention narrowly focused on our personal declared goals we make measurable steps forward. We don’t need to build a monument, a prototype will do.

17th – Tuesday – Saturn Contra-parallel Neptune – Eliminate the good, yet unimportant, things that you have been hanging on to and you will have plenty of time to concentrate on the truly necessary ingredients of your life.

18th – Wednesday – Sun Sesquiquadrate Jupiter – Our day brightens as we are encouraged to reach beyond our limits. Take a risk; be willing to try something new. “Even a tortoise has to stick his neck out to move forward.”

19th – Thursday – Mercury Sesquiquadrate Neptune, Sun Quincunx Pluto – Brilliant yet fleeting insights can emerge in ordinary conversations. Don’t compromise on principles, just eliminate the things which you are not able to complete.

20th – Friday – Sun Parallel Mercury, Mars Sextile Uranus – Bold steps can be taken to complete important tasks. Once you are in motion you will experience a sense of freedom. Although harmony is illusive, believe that everyone gets what they need.

21st – Saturday – Find the middle way and you will be successful. Too many opportunities are missed if you hesitate. Be inclusive in your thinking but don’t hold up your plans waiting for others.

22nd – Sunday – Mercury Semi-square Saturn, Mars Contra-parallel Pluto – The engines are revving but the brakes are still on. Don’t let fear stop you from acting but be willing to go it alone.

23rd – Monday – Sun enter Leo, Mercury Quincunx Jupiter – Tremendous emotions are released today; however some of this is just venting; Be willing to explain your actions and remember that “some things are better left unsaid.”

24th – Tuesday – Mercury Contra-parallel Jupiter, Mars is Square Neptune – We find the energy for some artistic expression and people from our past reconnect today. We are looking for where we can have greatest impact. Our time is too important to spend much energy on nostalgia; things from the past have to be relevant now to merit our attention.

25th – Wednesday – Our vision is way out in front of our field of activity. Planning is more important than day dreaming. We don’t need escape but we do need a “blueprint.”

26th – Thursday – Sun Semi-sextile Venus, Sun Sesquiquadrate Uranus – We are willing to take some bold steps today because if we try to sit still, the world moves us along anyway. We can see a side of our personality now that seldom shows up. Give yourself permission to create.

27th – Friday – Venus Turns Retrograde – We are examining our key relationships. We have a desire and opportunity to understand our feelings and loves.

28th – Saturday – Mercury Semi-square Venus, Mercury Trine Uranus – Innovative thoughts trigger our inclination to clean house and get rid of what isn’t working. Conveying simple pieces of information can straighten out strained relationships.

29th – Sunday – Full Moon at 7:48pm EDT – A happy optimism covers the atmosphere. We feel open yet there is some underlying tension that needs direction. It is a great night to socialize.

30th – Monday – Mercury Quincunx Neptune – Practical concerns slip easily from view and we are carried into a world of visions and dreams. There is lots of energy but it is hard to express ourselves in a constructive manner. Be careful if you need to make any irreversible decisions.

31st – Tuesday – Mars Squares Saturn – Higher logic can be in conflict with immediate practical needs. If you need to take action today it is better to err on the side of practical concerns.
