MARCH
2002 by Bob Mulligan
Around the 20th
of March we have the first day of spring. It's the end of the old
year and the beginning of the new. March always expresses the eternal
themes of completion and renewal. However, this year relationships
(and most especially our primary love connections) create the stage
upon which we enact this recurring drama.
Since last fall,
we have gradually come to terms with a new reality. Many changes
in the world are sifting down, directly effecting our personal lives.
And we are focused on our personal lives, even though the circumstances
of a larger world keep crying out for our attention. We have been
hurrying since January to get to March. We are here. Now the rhythm
of life changes. We become more deliberate, more practical, and
more focused.
Everything slows
downs on the 1st of March as Mars (God of energy) enters Taurus
(The first earth sign). All month our best strategy is to deal methodically
with practical problems. Slow doesn't necessarily imply relaxed.
There is real tension building up and releasing all month. However,
people seem sluggish even when fitful. The tone for the month is
plodding and excessively personal. Still, Jupiter (Lord of abundance)
turns direct on the 1st, showing we have expectations of better
things to come. We all feel some forward momentum for our projects
starting to build.
On the 3rd Mercury
sextiles Pluto and Venus semi-squares Neptune showing mental clarity
but emotional confusion.
The 5th brings
a potential for violence as Mars sesquiquadrates Pluto. However
Mercury in Sesquiquadrate to Jupiter indicates quick thoughts can
bring rapid solutions. It's one intense day. We should be prepared
to talk our way out of trouble.
On the 6th Mars
contra-parallels Pluto indicating that explosive emotions just beneath
the surface can erupt. A crisis in values emerges as the inertia
of material facts struggle against our higher intuitions. We fight
to make our needs function in harmony with our higher perceptions.
As Venus enters Aries on the 7th we may be prompted to act on our
impulses of the moment. However it is worth noting that these feeling
have an unspoken history.
On the 8th as
the Sun squares Pluto and Mars contra-parallels Uranus, we are forced
into action. A change in method is required to achieve a positive
result. Its easy to lose shape, form, and focus today. Spirited
insight and a compelling urge to compete with other "for the heck
of it" can get us all moving on the 9th as Mercury conjuncts Uranus
while Mars sextiles Jupiter. We start on a positive track with lots
of energy.
On the 10th
Mercury contra-parallels Mars sending us off to really take charge
of circumstances in our lives. We are energized and enthusiastic.
Much can be accomplished now if we don't become fanatic about goals
or angry at those who seem to oppose us.
On the 11th
Mercury parallels Uranus then enters Pisces. Much energy, insight,
and intuition is present. Probably the best use of today is dreaming
of what can be accomplished and making plans, even if they are a
bit informal.
On the 12th
Venus squaring Jupiter can bring a kind of lazy self-indulgence.
There are many Parallels involving Mercury and Pluto which link
the inner and external world. If you are able to keep your focus,
we may get a glimpse into where life is headed. Wisdom leads to
self correcting behavior.
On the 13th
we have our New Moon at 9:04 PM EST at 23 Pisces (The sign of empathy).
This is the last New Moon of the old year. Meditation leads inward
now. Its a good time to feel the unity of life and to think of our
connection to others.
On the 14th
Mars semi-squares Saturn as the Sun makes a contra-parallel to Venus.
Discipline and caution can help the refined aspects of our personality
emerge. Relationships will play a key role over the next week.
On Friday the
15th Venus sextiles Saturn, Mars Squares Neptune, Venus sextiles
Neptune, and Venus semi-sextiles Mars. Romantic intrigues and sexual
tension can build up today. Harmony and accommodation are all possible
but genuine effort is necessary to find new solutions if peace is
to be real and lasting.
On the 17th
Venus semi-squares Uranus. Sudden attraction bring excitement but
may not be enough to move us from well worn grooves. Any new love
interest now represents freedom. Remember its the freedom that is
important.
Mercury sextiling
Mars on the 19th indicates our past mistakes are the keys to today's
solutions. Problem solve in key relationships.
On Wednesday
the 20th the Sun enter Aries. Its the first day of Spring. It is
the season to begin again in earnest.
On Friday the
22nd Venus trines Pluto and Mercury squares Pluto. Our feelings
may be more productive than our thought process. Avoid arguments
and try to just enjoy the day.
On the 23rd
Mercury contra-parallels Venus showing both tension and resolution
between warring parties. Its a good time to honestly air differences.
On the 26th
Mars contra-Parallels Neptune, Mars quincunxes Pluto, and Mercury
semi-squares Neptune. Be very careful expressing desires now. Be
leery of any sudden change of plans. Its easy to be swept up in
anything that feeds our need for drama.
On the 27th
Sun squares Jupiter. It's a beautiful day but it is easy to get
pulled too deeply into our personal lives. Try to relax and enjoy.
On the 28th
Venus semi-squares Saturn. Then we have the Full Moon at 1:26pm
EST at 7 Aries/Libra 54. Relationships versus self assertion are
a big part of the tension now. Focusing our positive thoughts on
helping others solves many dilemmas. Meditation is always powerful
at the Full Moon.
On the 29th
Mercury (Messenger of the Gods) enters Aries. Our mind moves on
to new things. We communicate our thoughts with gusto. Venus sextiles
Uranus indicating there is a way to materialize our dreams and at
the same time shows us how to unite our true desires with the interest
in the common good.
On the 31st
, Sunday, the Sun sextiles Saturn then Neptune. It's easy to lose
focus. But, also it's possible to manifest some treasured ideal.
Be patient.
