July 2009
By Bob Mulligan
July has several noteworthy events: Uranus turns Retrograde, the second of three Conjunctions of Jupiter & Neptune, and two Eclipses. Uranus changing directions on the 1st signals a time of becoming more self reliant and working diligently on pre-existing circumstances. Our Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on the 7th, at 5:22 AM EDT, encourages us to overcome our fears and insecurities. We need to be disciplined in order to accept real responsibility for our current situation. On the 10th we have Jupiter Conjunct Neptune, once again encouraging us to see the bright side of life and to think in positive terms. The goal for us now is to harness our values to our everyday activities. On the 21st we have our New Moon Lunar Eclipse at 10:36 PM EDT.
The New Moon in June was at the very beginning of Cancer. We have this Eclipse at the very end. We are encouraged (through the aspects to these New Moons) to surrender old habits and put aside childish emotions that have held us back in the past. Now is a time to solidify our family and foundations in life.
On July 22nd, at 12:37 PM EDT, the Sun crosses into Leo. This solar month will be dominated by needs for self expression, recognition, and communication. Achieving understanding through improving communication is important all month. It will sometimes be hard to put aside personal needs in order to focus on the good for the community, but this is what is needed for conscious personal development and the growth of world culture.
Mercury, Venus, and Mars all change signs; this shows that we will have lots of transitions in our personal lives as we adjust to circumstances that seem beyond our control. Forces brewing now were set in motion years back but were less evident until recently. All the outer planets except Saturn are Retrograde and we can easily feel that we have been deserted. Corrections going on right now are meant to perfect our character.
From the 1st to the 5th we are looking for “loopholes” to get us beyond the collective difficulties experienced last month. New ideas applied to old circumstances give us a lift. We experience comfort with familiar people and developed relationships.
From the 6th to the 12th there is genuine relief offered and everyone can see a way beyond the current circumstances. Life gets easier and technological innovations show promise to improve circumstances. Write down your thoughts and you will see results.
From the 13th to the 19th good conversation and new methods of self expression give a certain levity. Bursts of energy and general curiosity create interesting new relationships and activities.
From the 20th to the 26th it is easy to retreat into isolation now. But, many new opportunities are around us, it just requires us to step forward and do something different. Worry is a bad use of energy. Embrace difficulties and you will see options.
From the 27th to the 31st create harmony by being willing to talk to people you have avoided. Our mental life can be big, we may think about things that are far away. Practical concerns are hard to concentrate on; if you are doing a lot of daydreaming, write down your thoughts but avoid making final decisions and avoid direct action until next month.
1st – Wednesday – Mars Contra-parallel Pluto, Uranus turns Retrograde, Venus Squares Neptune, Mercury Trines Neptune, Mercury Semi-sextile Venus, Sun Parallel Mercury, Mercury Trines Jupiter, Mercury Squares Uranus, Venus Squares Jupiter – Inspiration comes and our imagination is fired up. Several game changing ideas occur to each of us; be willing to act. Help in solving life’s most practical problems comes by accepting interruptions as an invitation to view life differently.
2nd – Thursday – Venus Sextile Uranus, Sun Sesquiquadrate Neptune – Progress is made by bypassing our normal reasoning faculties. Be willing to try the most unusual things. If your feelings are peaceful and kind in nature, trust them.
3rd – Friday – Sun Sesquiquadrate Jupiter, Mercury enters Cancer – Staying on track with the things that must be accomplished is more difficult as our thoughts naturally seem to wander now. Be capable of moving through many layers of a problem and keep focused on what must be completed.
4th – Saturday – Mercury Opposite Pluto – Staying natural is difficult. Pent up feelings want to surface; an undertone of frustration can steal the beauty of the day. Take a break from the ordinary and enjoy people around you as much as you are able.
5th – Sunday – Venus Enters Gemini, Venus Contra-parallel Pluto – A change in perspective helps to lighten up the day; compulsive behavior can stop you from participating in the goodness of the moment. Happiness can be discovered in life’s little treasures. Other people can change your attitude for good or ill.
6th – Monday – Mars Square Neptune, Venus Quincunx Pluto, Mars Square Jupiter – Setting unrealistic goals can have you wasting energy. See what can be accomplished in the time that you have.
7th – Tuesday – Mars Sextile Uranus, the Full Moon Eclipse at 5:22 AM – Much can be accomplished very quickly if you are willing to change. Let go of the past and free yourself to live in a new world.
8th – Wednesday – Mercury Sesquiquadrate Neptune, Mercury Sesquiquadrate Jupiter – Plans, people, and ideas emerge; it is an interesting day. Be willing to stick to your own perceptions when you see a great truth.
9th – Thursday – Sun Sextile Saturn – A cautious, steady hand can help us progress today by eliminating the things we don’t need and by integrating the things we have on hold. Now is a time of decisions and it is a time to act.
10th – Friday – Mercury Semi-square Mars, Jupiter Conjunct Neptune – Simple, practical problems can cause some disharmony. At the same time, we are being inspired by a new vision of the way the world can be at its best. Be at peace and have faith in life.
11th – Saturday – Mercury Sextile Saturn, Mars enters Gemini – Accomplish your tasks first then tell others what you are doing. Stay conservative in your outlook and focused on the practical problems of the moment. Discipline and constant attention to details bring about a positive result.
12th – Sunday – Emotional, simple, and kind is the mood of the day. If you are able to just rest you will be happiest. We can fully appreciate our family and friends today if we spend time with them.
13th – Monday – Sun Conjunct Mercury, Mars Quincunx Pluto – Stress can build up as we experience many complications from past actions. Be willing to talk to people without preconceived notions. Good ideas can emerge from unusual sources. Be willing to spend the time and the words to get clarity of vision.
14th – Tuesday – Impulsive acts can create difficulties. Observe others and avoid participating in ill conceived plans. Continual mental adjustments may be necessary in order to accomplish simple tasks.
15th – Wednesday – Mercury Quincunx Jupiter, Mercury Quincunx Neptune – If you can integrate emotional predilections with your higher vision of what is necessary now, you will be on your way to a more meaningful life. Don’t suppress your feelings but find a way to get beyond your normal, habitual responses to new information.
16th – Thursday – Mercury Trine Uranus, Mercury Semi-square Venus – Our insecurities can derail our intuitions if we feel isolated or dejected. It is possible to move mountains if you have faith in what you can see.
17th – Friday – Sun Quincunx Jupiter, Mercury enters Leo – Energize your thoughts with the enthusiasm of the moment, but be prepared to meet resistance. Calm down and you can recruit others to your point of view. Enjoy the bounty of life.
18th – Saturday – Sun Quincunx Neptune, Mercury Quincunx Pluto, Sun Trine Uranus – Manifesting your ideals requires constant adjustments to others. Friends and family can help you but remain truthful to your own vision of the way that things need to be now.
19th – Sunday – Mercury Semi-square Saturn, Sun Parallel Mars – Aim for consistency now. Being overly strict and then acting abruptly can confuse others. Fear and anger are enemies of productivity. Be sure you know what is important in the long run before you act.
20th – Monday – Mercury Parallel Mars, Sun Parallel Venus, Mercury Parallel Venus, Sun Parallel Mercury, Mercury Sextile Mars – Reorganize your home, office, and habits. We are most effective with simple revisions. Inner conflicts can evaporate when we place our attention on a unifying vision of what we are trying to achieve.
21st – Tuesday – Venus Square Saturn, the New Moon Eclipse is at 10:36 PM EDT – Major corrections are possible as we complete some things we started in June. We have the opportunity to push forward with a new agenda. This New Moon is so powerful that intentions set now will have a long lasting effect for more than a year.
22nd – Wednesday – Sun enters Leo – An underlying nervousness can detract from an otherwise very pleasant day. Be willing to take time away from your ordinary routines so you can experience a lift in your feelings.
23rd – Thursday – Mercury Sesquiquadrate Uranus, Sun Quincunx Pluto – Spiritual insight and quick action makes this an interesting day. New information interrupts your set habit patterns. Plans may have to be abruptly changed.
24th – Friday – Stay in motion and stay disciplined. You may feel a little down now if you have the habit of being overly self-critical.
25th – Saturday – Mercury Contra-parallel Pluto, Mercury Sesquiquadrate Pluto – We all make great strides today and are genuinely happy with what we are doing if we have prioritized correctly.
26th – Sunday – Sun Semi-square Saturn, Venus Trine Jupiter – Be sure to reinforce those around you. A little encouragement goes a long way. This is a very fortunate moment for sharing with others and acknowledging the goodness of the day.
27th – Monday – Mercury Semi-sextile Saturn – Get your “head out of the sand”. Be willing to accomplish something you thought was impossible. Help comes from unlikely sources.
28th – Tuesday – Venus Trine Neptune, Venus Square
Uranus –New and unusual events can change our focus; is this an interruption or an opportunity? Look before you act. Our impulses are stirred up.
29th – Wednesday – Our deepening feelings can be encouraging us to make some resolution in the area of our primary relationships. Ask but don’t force. Be disciplined and you will see amazing changes.
30th – Thursday – Mercury Opposite Jupiter, Mercury Contra-parallel Jupiter – Physical tension can develop as a natural consequence or mental conflict. Our ideals are not always capable of immediate manifestation. Patience and a constant re-evaluation can lead us to an inner peace.
31st – Friday – Mercury Opposite Neptune, Mercury Quincunx Uranus, Venus enters Cancer – Dreaming big dreams are usually a good thing, but too much of this can lead to escapist behavior. Mental excitement and unrest in key relationships keep us in motions. We find joy and peace by concentrating on simple things that are available right now.
